Your new role

The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) is provided on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by Serco in South-West and South Central England.

This is a critical service that helps DWP make decisions on benefit eligibility for people who might need help due to different life situations.

What you can expect from us

Serco is a leading provider of public services and we’re proud to be a people-focused business.

As a Functional Assessor with the Health Assessment Advisory Service, you can expect opportunities to work full or part-time at one of our Assessment Centres, or hybrid working where you spend some time each week with your team or remote working from across the country providing telephone and video assessments.

Offering competitive salaries and regular office hours, our clinical roles support people with health conditions or disabilities through the assessment process.

We also have non-clinical roles, providing vital services for our customers.

Our values of Trust, Care, Innovation and Pride are at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and understand the importance of work-life balance for our employees.

You can find out more about what we can offer you on our dedicated careers site.

Important: Extreme Weather Update

Due to severe weather conditions, we have made the decision to temporarily close six assessment centres until Monday 17th August. All other assessment centres remain open and appointments are continuing as planned.

The affected assessment centres are Aylesbury, Fareham, Salisbury, Southampton, Gloucester, and Frimley. All customers with appointments on 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th August have been contacted.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will contact customers if there are any changes to their appointment.
