Please note that most of the assessment rooms are on the first floor.
If you think you would have difficulty going down the stairs unaided in the event of an emergency, please contact us at least two days before your assessment to request a ground floor assessment room.
The Assessment Centre is located near the town centre. There are no visitor parking spaces apart from a small number of bays for Blue Badge holders.
The nearest car parks are Queen Street Car Park (temporarily closed in 2024) and Bear Street Car Park.

The nearest bus stop is Queen Street. This is served by route numbers 21, 21A, 21C, 1555 and 301.
Barnstaple railway station is approximately 0.5 miles from the Assessment Centre. Trains are operated by Great Western Railway and travel from Exeter Central.

Due to severe weather conditions, face-to-face assessment appointments scheduled for Wednesday 24 June, Thursday 25 June, and Friday 26 June will be changed to telephone appointments where appropriate, or rescheduled.
If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly. Please do not attend your assessment centre unless you have been advised to do so.
