You may be referred by Veterans UK to the Health Advisory Assessment Service (HAAS) provided on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by Serco in South West and South Central England. 

A Serco qualified healthcare professional may be asked to assess a disability from an injury or illness which occurred while serving in the Armed Forces.

Veterans UK may ask for a review of previously accepted conditions or for new conditions to be assessed.

About your assessment

Our qualified health professional will discuss your conditions and the activities you are able to undertake in a typical day.

You can bring any additional medical evidence to your assessment. You may also bring a family member, friend or support worker to the assessment.

After your assessment

After your assessment, our health professional will write a report. This will provide advice to Veterans UK based on what you have told us.

Veterans UK assessors will use this report to help decide on any payable pension.
