This page is only for Universal Credit (UC) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) customers who have a video Work Capability Assessment (WCA) or customers who have a video Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) assessment. If you have a Personal Independence Payment video call, please click here.

If you have been invited to a video Work Capability Assessment (WCA) or Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) assessment, you can click below to join the waiting room prior to your assessment.

The link to video assessments below has been disabled until they commence later this month.

What you need for a video assessment

  • A laptop, mobile phone, tablet or desktop computer that has a front-facing camera, a microphone and speakers
  • A good internet connection. If you can stream videos online without any issues, your internet connection should be good enough for a video assessment
  • A quiet, private place where you will not be disturbed
  • A Safari, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser
  • If you get a message saying “You are able to make WebRTC calls” please close this new window down – do not close the browser window

You can test your equipment with a test call here.

If you do not have all of these, or your health condition or disability means that you are not able to have a video assessment, please contact us as soon as possible. We can then discuss with you the best way to carry out your assessment.

You can call us on 0800 008 3074 between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday.

Please also contact us if:

  • You need to change your appointment. Please note you can only change your appointment once
  • You would like to discuss changing the method of assessment
  • You need an interpreter (including British Sign Language) or any other reasonable adjustment
  • You need to see a Functional Assessor of the same sex
  • Any other questions or concerns you have.

We are unable to provide an audio recording of your video assessment. Please note that it is not permitted to make a video recording of your assessment on your own device.
